ARPA- Federal Grant

​ The arts grant, made possible with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, is part of a total of $6.25 million focused on supporting arts and cultural institutions led by diverse arts and cultural organizations announced in September 2023. The Diversity in Arts Grant funding will help awardees sustain and expand their work as they provide Baltimore City residents with quality art experiences and activities.

Black Women Leading

 The 3rd Annual Black Leading Women Celebration, held at The Center Club on June 13 and presented by the Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) and CarVer Communications, shone a spotlight on the achievements and legacies of remarkable Black women.

Marque Ball Golden Formstone Honoree

 The Golden Formstone Award honors those whose commitment to arts, innovation, education, and culture.

Halcyon Fellow

The Opportunity Intensive began in 2020 with a cohort of nine social entrepreneurs and a commitment to accelerating the impact-driven future of business in our own backyard. While Opportunity Zones have been a polarizing topic, they provide a valuable jumping off point for identifying communities in our region that have been historically under-resourced to ensure innovation and investment remain in the hands of those who know and love these communities best.

Innovation Lab

The Social Innovation Lab (SIL) accelerates leaders and ventures building innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions that work towards a healthy and prosperous world. Open to any applicant from the greater Baltimore area, we aim to see mission-driven ventures from both the Johns Hopkins and the surrounding communities develop into thriving ventures with measurable impacts.

United Way Changemaker Challenge

United Way of Central Maryland's Changemaker Challenge sparks social innovation to address challenges facing our communities.The Challenge first launched in partnership with the Horizon Foundation in Howard Country in 2017, and it has since expanded to most of Central Maryland. Most recently, United Way of Central Maryland invested more than $500,000 to 30 individuals and groups who pitched progressive ideas to address their communities' most pressing issues, like physical and mental health, expanding equity, education, financial literacy, and more.

Baltimore Banner Emerging Leader

The Baltimore Banner selected 13 community leaders as its 2024 Emerging Leaders honorees, who will be recognized at an event in May. This is the second year for the event, which launched in 2023 to shine a light on the next generation of leaders under the age of 40 who are making an impact in their community.
